This Scientific Symposium 2019 is focusing on evidence based and practical approaches to breastfeeding, supporting mothers and families to establish and maintain breastfeeding for longer. It is a unique program that offers plenary sessions, workshops, conference dinner and poster presentations. We are currently accepting submissions of abstracts for the Philips Avent Scientific Symposium 2019.

 

The theme of the Philips Avent Scientific Symposium 2019 is:

Proven and practical approaches to breastfeeding; from hospital to home

 

All abstracts submitted must relate to research involving breastfeeding. This can include research relating to;

  • Enabling optimal breastfeeding within the care system
  • Optimizing NICU care environment to support breast milk rate outcomes
  • Global insights in breastfeeding programs and the role of health care professionals

 

When the abstract is accepted you are invited to display your own research in our poster session and participate in the competition. Poster guidelines will follow due time.

 

The Philips Avent Scientific Symposium is an international scientific event. The conference is of interest to practitioners, policy makers, and researchers working with families in the health, education, and welfare sectors. Those attending will be presented with state-of-the-art knowledge, contribute to debate, and engage in hands-on practice with leaders in the field of mother and child care. The event will be supplemented by an exciting social program that will enable delegates to grow their international networks.

Submission guidelines

  • All abstracts must be submitted via: info@Philipsavent-symposium.com
  • E-mail subject: submission abstract
  • All abstracts must be submitted in English
  • Abstracts must not exceed 350 words
  • References are not required
  • Abstracts should contain text only (no diagrams, links or attachments)
  • All details should be accurate, as your submission will be reproduced in the Book of Abstracts and all delegates will receive a copy on the day
  • Only one abstract per symposium is required
  • Submissions received after Monday December 31, 2018 deadline will not be accepted
  • All those who have submitted abstracts will be notified via email as to whether or not they have been successful by Wednesday January 30, 2019
  • When successful it is required to present the abstract during the poster session of the Philips Avent Scientific Symposium 2019 (poster guidelines to be confirmed due time)
  • All presenters and discussants are required to register and pay to attend the conference
  • All submissions should cover some aspect of:
    • Enabling optimal breastfeeding within the care system
    • Optimizing NICU care environment to support breast milk rate outcomes
    • Global insights in breastfeeding programs and the role of health care professionals
  • Any submission that does not adhere to the guidelines will not be accepted.

 

Review and acceptance

  • All submissions will be reviewed by members of the Scientific Program Committee
  • Acceptance or otherwise is at their discretion
  • All submissions will be considered on the basis of the following criteria:
    • Research quality
    • Relevance to conference theme
    • Innovation
  • We would particularly welcome abstracts from a variety of countries, and from early career researchers such as PhD students and postdoctoral researchers
